Monash Art, Design and Architecture Student Exhibition 2022

Sara Amin

I am a third year student, I study Architectural Design and I am also a Senior Peer Mentor. Through past studios I have found my area of focus which is mainly based around climate change, environmentalism, inclusivity and diversity. My current studio has allowed me explore this theme and gain more knowledge on what Architecture could be and what it could determine/provide for humanity or the ecosystem, especially for the future of our existence.

Mirrored Fears

My current work is a fusion between an abandoned ship and an observatory with different instruments that allow you to observe the ecosystem, what you observe (which is done via hearing, seeing, feeling, etc.) will have an affect on your emotions. The purpose of this project is to transform your emotions to replicate the existing conditions of the environment. It will allow you to question your existence, how you feel will determine how you respond and act for the future. As you travel through the project and use each device, each individual will be subjective and find specific things. This will be represented through their emotions which links back to the conditions of the land, sky and sea.
