Kaitlin McNeill

Hello, my name is Kaitlin my work is regarding the redesign of the Monash Clayton Indegenous garden, the design of multiple nodes to create a sequencial experience in relation to the use of shadow and light with focus on the hidden side of the shadows.

Site Axonometric- 1:300

This drawing encompasses all of the node designs throughout the park regard its re-design, these nodes all come together to create a sequencial experience for the inhabitants of the park, to allow for reflection of the history of the garden as well as self reflection, the main theme throughout these nodes is the use of light and shadow, to allow for these spaces to become reflective and to see the hidden side to things

Node 6- Reflective lake view

This node sits on top of the lake allowing for the inhabitants to venture out onto the lake and self reflect with the presence of water, the main structure with slats allows for the shadows to come through and change throughout the day becoming more noticeable throughout the day.

Node 2- Exploded Axonometric

An exploded axonometric of the second node detailing its construction, with the weave like structure and open top allowing for a different perspective for the park inhabitants to experience while walking through this node, the biomimicry of the nearby park allows this node to blend in within the park.
