FIMRACS is a multifunctional, mobile architecture dedicated to the regeneration of the deforested, former agricultural land on French Island. Using minimal tillage farming equipment that double as the building's foundations, the mobile architecture rotates along the site, leaving behind a trail of native flora. The community of French Island is encouraged to visit FIMRACS where they can use the rooftop community garden, learn about native flora and through collaboration with the architecture’s operators, transplant seeds from the structure into the surrounding freshly tilled site.

View Of FIMRACS from the former agricultural site.

Seen here, the minimal tillage farming equipment reduces the impact on the land and soil when the architecture moves on. Additionally, this image shows the versatility of the foundations with their ability to move into various states. Currently, it is sitting low to allow people to enter and exit via the stairs.

View of FIMRACS Canopy.

This view shows the rooftop garden and educational space. The solar panels seen here are the building's source of power while water from the sky is collected in the water catchment awnings and garden.

FIMRACS Site Plan.

This image shows the way in which FIMRACS can collect water from various wetlands and travel to a patch of former agricultural land to start the planting process. The image displays the way in which the dynamic architecture can walk to and from different sites as well as rotate through the land leaving behind a freshly tilled and regenerated landscape.

FIMRACS First Floor Plan.

The 1:100 site plan shows the layout of FIMRACS. As seen, one half of the building houses the water treatment and storage tanks and a centre workspace area. Onboard the other half, a single bedroom premises is able to provide overnight accommodation for maintenance or water treatment workers and researchers and horticulturalists.
