Xinyi (Oscar) Zhang

I am a spatial designer who just graduated from Monash University. During my school years, I improved my knowledge of modeling software and the learning and exploration of other software. I always aim to improve my own quality and strive for all-round personal development. In addition, I also engage in photography, font design and interior design. As a designer, I love the discovery of beauty and the exploration of space structure and function. In my works, I discussed the composition of space structure and the research of space structure.

Render 1_cactus

My project is called Cactus, which is a post-apocalyptic shelter made up of waste materials collected by people. Its overall structure is the shape of a cactus, because in my initial design idea, I thought that water storage is the source of human life. I applied the water storage function of the cactus to the model making with reference to bionics. The internal spatial structure I also based on the function sex divides each area. The display of the final effect picture gives people a more intuitive feeling by rendering the model to create the atmosphere effect I want to get.

The treatment of light and shadow is very important in architectural renderings, which is of great significance for understanding the architectural form and spatial relationship. In my opinion, dealing with the relationship between light and shadow is to solve the relationship between shadow and outline, light and shade levels and black and white of the effect picture. The key is to focus on shadow and light receiving forms. Therefore, I am more careful about the light and shadow when rendering

Perspective is still very important in the process of rendering composition A set of renderings using one-point perspective composition can be a good contrast or complement to other particularly eye-catching renderings. I often use a one-point perspective composition when rendering the composition, so that the renderings are more realistic and vibrant.

Morphogenesis Process

The morphogenesis of the model is equivalent to the process of my brainstorming. Inspired by the cactus in real life, the initial shape of the model is determined. Explore to gradually form the overall appearance of the final model

Floor plan of the model

The floor plan is a very important step in drawing. I think every model should make its floor plan. The floor plan can let people understand the internal structure of your model more intuitively. It reflects the functional needs of the building, the layout and the composition of the plane. It is the key link in determining the facade and internal structure of the building
