Hingis Ma

Hey there! I'm Hingis. Based in Melbourne, Australia, I delight in crafting beautiful user experiences through intuitively-designed solutions. With the Master of Interaction Design, I dived into the world of UX/UI and seriously could not be happier! :) Below is my a small showcase of my UX/UI work. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did working on them.

Babel: The Live Translation App

Voice can be a wonderful material to create a new way of interacting with digitial products. With this project, I designed and built an interactive app using Figma & Protopie, that has the voice prototyping functionality as its main interaction.

Babel is a voice translation app that allows you to translate people’s voices live through the app. With this app, there is no need to type anything in order to translate. Just speak through your phone’s microphone and let the app do the rest.

Sal

Sal is an audio recipe guiding app that allows users to cook hands free. As someone who enjoys cooking in my spare time, I find it quite tedious when I have to wash my hands everytime to scroll down on my laptop or smart phone to continue reading the recipe. With Sal, it completely eliminates that process.

Through voice commands, Sal guides you through online recipes found on the web and translates for you on a clean and minimalistic UI app. Users also have the freedom to turn the reading system of Sal on or off, depending if they want a quiet cooking space or not.

Moodle Redesign

Monash University has been using Moodle for approximately 10 years. In this time there have been many customisations and enhancements made to the platform to address functionality and technical needs. However, some major aspects like navigation, aesthetics and ease of use have not yet been addressed. This results in a powerful tool that is frustrating to use.

The objective of this experiential design project was to design an engaging and interactive design concept that addresses issues raised from experience and data collection to improve the LMS. Through a 14 week journey of UX research and UI prototyping, these were the mockups of our final new version of Moodle 4.0.

Bad Habits App

We all have bad habits. If you have ever tried to break a bad habit you know they are difficult to break. In this project, I developed an app for behaviour change (a framework through which to create new habits or to break old ones). This project was split into two phases: UX Research & UI Prototyping.

Stop Snack: The aim of this app is to help users with their mental health and specifically with the habit of 'stress eating'.

Food Ordering App

UI design & prototyping for an online food ordering app.
