Olivia is a curator and writer from Naarm, studying her Honours in Fine Arts (Curating) at Monash University. Olivia has grown up in Australia, born from a Mauritian/Rodriguan father and Australian mother. Her curatorial practice explores the ability of music as a medium to articulate emotion, memories, creole language and relation. Using methods of positionally, Diaspora, non-western practices and curating, she proposes an interdisciplinary way of thinking, articulating shared experiences, influence, ways of living and being.

Olivia in Mauritius, 2004
This photograph was taken of me in 2004 by my parents in Mauritius. It depicts me underneath a statue of the extinct Dodo bird. Re-connecting to Mauritian culture through music and food has been vital to my practice and motivated my Honours this year.
Dance
This photograph was taken by me at my exhibition "Love and Kisses," at Flippy's bar, Brunswick. It shows the audience dancing to Mauritian music and having lots of fun!
Lamb Curry
This is a lamb curry I made for my exhibition 'Art form' at Mauritian restaurant in North Melbourne, Manzé. Together the audience ate it whilst viewing artworks in the space and listening to Séga music.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
