The sculptural installation presented in this series explores how vaping has become a part of popular culture and therefore been transformed into a commodity. Through focusing on their materiality I have developed works that play on the absurdity of the concept. The formation of the hands realise the notion that these objects have become an extension of our body and the incorporation of the handbags brings to life my message that they have become an accessory to don.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
