Lily Baxter

A devotion to the colour blue and a lurid visual language. These dreamlike landscapes are positioned as an imaginative space to explore feelings, form, and personal histories.

Dreamscape in Blue

Multi panel dreamlike landscape in blue. This work is across six panels and details a fabricated landscape which supports swirling forms and shapes painted in shapes of blue and pink.

Acrylic paint on six canvases (297 x 420mm)

Tapestry in Blue

Tapestry style dreamlike landscape in blue. This work is painted using lurid forms and shades of blue to create an imaginative space in which to explore references to culture and allusions to a continued water motif.

Acrylic paint on unstretched canvas (1776 x 840mm)

Small dreams in blue

Small scale study of larger blue landscapes. This work continues with the same colour palette and visual language, acting as a smaller vignette of this exploration.
