This painted series is an immersive and theatrical production of symbolic imagery sourced from key moments shared with loved ones. It is a monumental celebration and appreciation of figures in my life to reference memories which I have immense gratitude for. Using a limited colour palette, there is an unwavering solemn feeling which acknowledges that whilst this series is a positive commemoration, there is a weight in knowing that these memories are stuck in the past with a looming threat of being forgotten.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
