This project investigates the openness and closedness of data access and literacy, with the aim of increasing citizen agency. Repurposing part of a brick textiles factory, this project weaves an "I-Hub" data access and collaboration space, with a "Fab-Lab" makerspace. The floor plan weaves these spaces in a checkerboard pattern, with a mix of open, moveable, and fixed room divides modifying sound and circulation conditions. Externally, the façade is comprised of custom ceramic bricks, their aggregation creating a weaving pattern. A hidden door and breaks in front of the windows, reminiscent of an unravelling thread, tie into the data access themes, in this case data held within the site.
