Throughout my Bachelor's degree, I have developed a passion for architecture that enhances the lives and experiences of occupants within their environment. My interest lies in creating meaningful architecture tailored to the inhabitants and surrounding context.
This capsule of work aims to challenge the 'speed of interactions' between the public and private community. This is done by deploying architectural space, structure and programme that aims to slow down the typically 'fast' paced interactions, repeat the 'medium' paced interactions and exaggerate the 'slow' paced interactions.
Best in Studio: 'Rent'
Most outstanding design project in the studio 'Rent' in the Bachelor of Architectural Design.
Key View From Shared Circulation
This key view presents the perspective from the shared circulation. The balconies' alternating widths provide spaces for programming and structure, attempting to slow down the 'fast' interactions.
Key View From Shared Rooftop
This key view captures the perspective from a communal rooftop space. The view presents the outdoor shared spaces repeated in multiple places, as it is considered a 'medium' paced interaction point.
Ground Floor Plan
This ground floor plan illustrates the shared community spaces offered on-site. The ground floor facilitates community interactions by providing infrastructure to support and challenge 'slow', 'medium' and 'fast' ways of interaction between the public and private users.
Section BB
This section drawing showcases the shared and private spaces on site. The apartment types are condensed in size, encouraging usage in the shared spaces and promoting the idea of a communal 'outdoor living room'.
Detailed Sections of Key Moments
These detailed section drawings capture key moments around the site. More specifically, they show aspects that are repeated on levels and show two key thresholds.
Project Collages
These collages drive the idea of the 'speed of interactions' by exploring spaces for 'fast', 'medium' and 'slow' ways of encountering the public and private community.
