The multi-residential project establishes a strong public interface through low-height fencing within the gardens of Ground Floor dwellings to enable interactions between occupants and the community. Deep balconies on other floors mirror this notion and provide each dwelling with ample outdoor space and natural light.

Ground Floor Plan

To create dwellings of equal size and access, East-West apartments were prioritised and established as the main siting strategy. The East wing faces the main road - Kooyong Road, while the West wing faces the shared garden. Dwellings vary from 1-bed to 3-bed, each with open-plan living and bedrooms tucked towards the centre of the site. Shared amenities such as a communal laundry, bike sheds and outdoor spaces further push for community engagement and co-living.

First Floor Plan/Adapted Plan

The adaptability of this project stems from the idea of "flippable" bedrooms wherein the ownership of a bedroom flanked by two dwellings can be negotiated between its occupants. This strategy can accommodate growing families in the future and allow for flexibility so the function of the bedrooms can be adapted and altered to suit the needs of the occupants.
