VLC Lamp

For my project, I have created a lamp to take advantage of visual light communications (VLC). VLC uses LED lights to transmit data instead of the radio signals used in technology such as Wi-Fi.

VLC sensors can pick up the flickering rate of LED lights turning on and off to receive a binary signal (one's and zero's). In this way, data such as text, images or even videos can be transmitted approximately 200 times faster than Wi-Fi.

To take advantage of this. I have designed a wall lamp for VLC with motors that allow it to target smart tech in darker room settings. Consequently, data can be transmitted to that object using light instead of radio waves.
