Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2023

My name is Spiridon, I am currently studying Spatial Design and have worked on several student projects within this field across my degree. I have a particular interest in Architectural design and the technical intricacies that come with drawing, creating, modelling, and presenting an idea.

The work I have engaged in and completed throughout my studies has generally centred around ideas of sustainability, re-use and innovation within architecture and spatial design, and aim to solve a variety of socio-cultural issues that exist or may soon exist. These projects have allowed me to formulate my own unique style and design language and focus in on my individual interests within design.

'Transformembranes'

The project explores this idea through theorising alternative means of ingestion, and nutritional optimisation that may exist in the near future.

Liminal Workshops

The idea of the ‘Liminal Workshops’ arose in response to the issue of grossly under-utilised road easements, or “nature strips”, that exist across Victoria. These road easements account for ‘nearly a third of all public green space in Naarm/Melbourne’ and therefore offer designers endless unique possibilities to create more ‘sustainable and resilient spaces’ that serve to positively impact the environment in a social context.

The philosophy behind this design involved designing a range of workshop spaces situated on road easements and nature strips in order to act as a melting point for community initiatives into re-using, and recycling old materials in an attempt to minimise waste.
