Diasporic Relations is a curatorial project seeking to explore the ideas surrounding the shared experience of the Greek Diaspora, through the collection and collation of varied objects holding significance to this topic. Stemming from my own experience as a third generation immigrant living in Naarm, Melbourne, this project grounds itself in the self-exploration of my own familial ties to the Greek Diaspora.
The collection of objects are positioned in relation to a short narrative revealing the significance they hold for those they belong to. In presenting these items I wish to showcase them as an artwork in themselves, giving them artistic agency beyond being solely an object of belonging.
