I'm a passionate furniture designer and maker. For me, creating furniture is more than just shaping wood - its a meditative practice that connects me to the present moment. I find immense joy in the tactile experience of making, where each step in the process allows me to slow down and fully engage with the material at hand.
Through my designs, I strive to create pieces that are not only functional but also inspire a sense of mindfulness in those who use them. I believe that well-crafted furniture can enhance our environments and remind us to appreciate the beauty of the everyday.

Lotus Flower

The lotus flower’s symbolism of purity, resilience and enlightenment guided the design of the Lotus Table. Like the lotus, which rises from murky waters to bloom beautifully, the table is crafted with clean minimal concentric lines. The layering of these octagons, embody a sense of balance, calm and harmony that reflect the lotus unfolding.

Half Lap Joints

The half lap joints in the table’s construction symbolise unity, as individual parts join to form a strong and cohesive whole. This detail emphasises interdependence and stability, reinforcing the table’s purpose of bringing people together. The visible craftmanship serves as a reminder of strength in connection and simplicity.

Repitition

Repetition in the table’s design mirrors the rhythmic pattern of lotus petals, creating a calming visual flow. This recurring form encourages mindfulness, inviting users to slow down and appreciate each detail. The repeated elements build a harmonious structure, symbolising balance and reinforcing the table’s intention of cultivating tranquillity.

Process

The process of crafting the table became a journey in mindfulness and self-actualisation. Immersed in shaping, sanding and joining each part I was able to spend time practicing mindfulness while honing my craft and improving my hard and soft skills. This hands-on practice fostered personal growth, patience, resilience and a grounded sense of purpose.
