A Space to Be is a propositional exhibition that speaks to the potential of public spaces in facilitating true calmness. Through working with artists Janae Hunter and Gabby McQueen, A Space to Be challenges the current, and historic, uses of public spaces, such as public art galleries, as a forced necessity in which people pass through on their way to their personal destination or goal. Rather, the exhibition positions visitors to consider public space as a vital opportunity to facilitate calmness through connection, comfort and belonging.
