Think I’ve Spilt It marries painting and material as a visual language which translates internal feelings & emotions only understood through observation. The materiality of paper & the way it has been used for this work, tangibly mimics the ways humans feel deeply, things that cannot be described through words but sculpted with material. The painting's structure works like building blocks, visual representing implications of what it feels like to overthink and how one feels when tipped over the edge, and begs the question if you're about to, will or have spilt it all now.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
