Master of Urban Planning and Design

The Master of Urban Planning and Design engages students with the significant challenges shaping contemporary cities and regions through an integrated, analytical, creative, ethical and practice-oriented approach. Through research-led, project-based studios and real-world engagement, the course equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to address complex issues including housing affordability, climate adaptation, urban regeneration, infrastructure planning and sustainable growth. By combining planning expertise in governance, policy, economics and community engagement with spatial and design-based approaches, students develop the capacity to understand and intervene in urban environments across multiple scales. Guided by commitments to environmental sustainability, social and spatial equity, and people-centred urban futures, the program prepares graduates to work collaboratively across disciplines and to shape resilient, inclusive and thriving places. The following studios represent the breadth of urban planning and design research, education and practice within our master's program.
