Hey there! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my work. I’m Mackenzie, and I’m a communication design student. I’ve always had a passion for art and creativity, and over the years, I’ve developed a style that’s playful and full of personality. I especially enjoy branding and illustration, where I can bring ideas to life in ways that feel both creative and joyful.
To me, design is all about connection. I want my work to make people smile. Whether it’s a brand's identity, a publication, or a small personal project, I aim to design work that I enjoy making and also brings a little happiness to others. I hope that as you explore my projects, they brighten your day, even just a little.
The Second Look
The Second Look is a road safety campaign created for the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) to raise awareness about the risks of buying and driving used cars. Inspired by 2000s bumper stickers, the logo uses bold typography, bright colours and sticker-style graphics to make car safety feel fun, engaging, and approachable.
The Second Look - Billboard
Applications for The Second Look campaign often feature a stick-figure family or group of friends to evoke emotion and connection. This design highlights the importance of checking a car’s safety rating before buying, reminding drivers that every choice on the road impacts the people they care about most.
If You Knew Why - Poster
This poster is part of my campaign ‘If You Knew Why’, which explores the issue of women’s safety and the everyday behaviours that can make women feel unsafe. The simple, ambiguous phrase paired with a QR code invites viewers to stop and question its meaning before leading them to the campaign website, where the full message is revealed.
If You Knew Why - Website
The campaign website continues the narrative from the posters, revealing the meaning behind the message and providing a space for learning and action. It also encourages viewers to reflect on their own behaviour and hear real experiences from others.
Baker Bear - Children's Book
Let’s Bake Cookies with Baker Bear is an interactive children’s book that combines storytelling, baking, and learning. The book invites children to help Baker Bear solve simple math challenges while baking cookies for his forest friends. Accompanied by physical props and a teacher/parent guide, the design encourages hands-on learning through play.
Baker Bear - Book Spread Layout
Each spread uses narrative, illustration, and interactive challenges to help children explore concepts like counting, multiplying, and dividing. Clear layouts, engaging visuals, and gentle prompts guide children through math activities that make learning feel fun.
