Hello, I’m Wanghao Jin, a communication designer exploring how design can reveal the emotions hidden in everyday life. My practice focuses on creating meaningful interactions that encourage empathy, reflection, and awareness.

EmotionCycle is a digital project that helps users record and reflect on their emotions toward daily consumption and waste. It transforms feelings like guilt, pride, and nostalgia into visual, interactive experiences, encouraging mindfulness and more sustainable habits. Through its app, campaign, and physical outcomes, EmotionCycle connects emotion and material life, showing that waste isn’t an end — but part of an ongoing emotional cycle.

Emotioncycle — poster

The EmotionCycle poster serves as an engaging promotional piece designed to introduce the app and attract new users.
The bold typography and high-contrast design enhance visibility in public spaces, while the embedded QR code encourages on-the-spot interaction, linking directly to the app download page. This poster aims to create emotional curiosity and invite audiences to begin their own journey of self-reflection through EmotionCycle.

Emotioncycle — APP

EmotionCycle is a digital platform designed to help users reflect on their emotional relationship with everyday objects and consumption. Through interactive features like Daily Emotion Record, Emotional Calendar, and the Emotion Library, users can log their moods, explore emotional patterns, and understand the psychology behind habits of keeping, discarding, or reusing things.

Emotioncycle — tickets

The EmotionCycle tickets act as tactile extensions of the app’s emotional library. Each ticket focuses on a distinct emotional theme — such as guilt, pride, nostalgia, or relief — and invites users to reflect through a short question. The inclusion of a QR code links directly to the app, encouraging participants to explore deeper emotional insights.

Emotioncycle — Social media

The EmotionCycle social media campaign extends the app’s mission into a wider digital community. It uses Instagram as an interactive platform to raise awareness about emotional reflection, sustainable habits, and the relationship between people and their possessions.

Each post combines vivid visuals, short insights, and data-driven facts to attract attention and encourage participation. This outcome bridges the gap between digital engagement and emotional awareness, turning social media into a space for empathy, self-reflection, and community connection.

EmotionCycle — Logo

The EmotionCycle logo visually captures the heart of the project — the coexistence and connection of multiple emotions in daily life.
Each abstract character represents a distinct emotional state — curiosity, joy, and uncertainty — communicating expression through simple shapes and gestures rather than words.
