In a world where most electric kettles are replaced rather than repaired, ModuLife reimagines an everyday product as a system for sustainability and user empowerment.
A modular, repairable kettle system allowing users to easily replace the lid, handle, and shell, extending lifespan and reducing waste.
Components connect through a locking interface and standardised base, simplifying repair and reuse.

ModuLife-Electric Kettle

ModuLife reimagines the everyday kettle as a sustainable system of user empowerment. Research across environmental, economic, and social dimensions revealed that most kettles are discarded due to minor faults and poor repair support. ModuLife introduces a modular design where users can replace parts easily, aided by an online platform offering tutorials, spare parts, and repair events. It turns boiling water into a shared act of responsibility—extending both the product’s life and the user’s connection to it.
