My name is Jennifer Lok, a spatial designer drawn to how spaces influence the way we feel, move, and connect. I believe design can do more than serve function; it can hold emotion, spark interaction, and create moments of reflection and belonging within the built environment.

Overgrowth, my current project, is a vision of the future where architecture and nature coexist and adapt together. I focused on designing the roof, a playground that nurtures curiosity, connection, and care. By bringing life from the ground up to the rooftop, the space reconnects people with nature while offering moments of pause and shared experience in a world increasingly shaped by technology and ecological change.

The Overgrown City

Perspective view of dense apartment clusters, illustrating Overgrowth’s vision of urban environments where architecture and nature coexist and adapt together. The image highlights the interplay of built form and vegetation, showing how ecological growth weaves through the city fabric.

Above and Within

Closer view of the rooftop, showing how people engage with the space and adapt to its natural forms. The image captures moments of play, rest, and movement, highlighting the interaction between users and the living landscape.

Top View

Top view showing the overall layout and organisation of the rooftop playground, highlighting circulation paths, key structures, and planted areas.

Isometric Projection

Isometric projection drawing illustrating the three-dimensional relationships of the rooftop playground, showing how structures, pathways, and vegetation connect across multiple levels.

Intertwined Routes

First-person view of the wavy, vine-like structures extended around the residential buildings, supporting climbing, movement, and playful exploration. People navigate the forms while vegetation weaves along them, showing how the space encourages activity and interaction across different levels.

Elevation & Section

Elevation and section showing human scale within the rooftop playground and how the space is used. The drawings reveals the internal structure of the roof, including support elements and circulation pathways.
