My practice involves depicting scenes captured from personal experience as a way to appreciate and build a stronger understanding of the world. My most recent work is a series of observations and reflections on my Nonno's land in regional Victoria, depicting the landscape, labour and the feelings that come with being away from home and family. Working with a muted palette, my oil paintings focus on light and transparency, using loose yet calculative brushstrokes, creating a space for contemplation.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
