| Kohila Ganadhiepan - Steering Committee Co-Chair Dr Kohila Ganadhiepan is a dedicated medical practitioner currently serving as a Basic Physician Trainee at Latrobe Regional Hospital, Traralgon. She has worked across a range of specialties at Monash Health and contributes to medical education as an Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University. Dr. Ganadhiepan has also delivered patient care in regional settings, including Warragul Hospital, reflecting her strong commitment to rural health. With a keen interest in cardiology and ongoing involvement in research and teaching, Dr. Ganadhiepan brings both clinical excellence and academic passion to her evolving medical career. |
| Noah Pallot - Steering Committee Co-Chair Dr Noah Pallot is an ACRRM registrar committed to improving rural health outcomes and workforce development. Growing up in Gippsland, he understands regional healthcare challenges and advocates for junior doctors as a Board Director for the Rural Doctors Association of Victoria. Passionate about system improvement he is pursuing a Master of Public Health to drive positive change in rural medicine and strengthen healthcare access for regional communities. |
| Sophie Fontaine - Steering Committee Dr Sophie Fontaine grew up in Gippsland and was motivated to study medicine to promote healthy living without compromising on geographical location. Sophie graduated from the inaugural End-to-End Rural Cohort offered by Monash University in 2024 and is currently completing her internship through the Victorian Rural Generalist Program at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. She was elected to represent her fellow junior doctors, advocating for positive change at both local and state levels. Dr Sophie’s goal is to combine her passions for the outdoors and multiculturalism in a dual career of rural generalism and expedition medicine. |
| Mark Tay - Steering Committee Mark Tay is a fifth-year medical student currently based in Traralgon, having completed two years of rural clinical training in Warragul. His experiences in Gippsland have fostered a deep interest in paediatrics and a commitment to improving healthcare access in regional communities. Mark has been actively involved in WILDFIRE, Monash University’s rural and Indigenous health club, and has coordinated the Vampire Cup blood donation campaign. He has also volunteered with Teddy Bear Hospitals across Gippsland, promoting health education among young children. Mark is passionate about rural advocacy, community engagement, and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals in regional areas. |
| Ehsan Torabi - Steering Committee Dr Ehsan Torabi is a dedicated physician with a diverse background in both metropolitan and rural healthcare. Currently serving as a General Medicine SMO at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul. With nearly a decade of experience in organising educational programs for undergraduates and junior doctors, he has played a key role in shaping training initiatives that support the next generation of clinicians. As a member of the DRIVERS 2025 Steering Committee, he is committed to fostering discussions on innovation, equity, and the challenges of delivering quality healthcare in rural settings. |
| Shelby Kuang - Steering Committee Shuobing (Shelby) Kuang is a fourth-year medical student, and member of the Monash University Extended Rural Cohort. She completed her Year 3 placement in Traralgon at Latrobe Regional Health last year, and is rotating through Maffra and Warragul this year for her GP and other specialty placements in 2025. This has given her exciting opportunities to learn about rural health and the various unique challenges faced by rural/regional communities, as well as establishing connections with the Gippsland region’s beautiful natural landmarks and engaging community events. |
| Jasmine Elliott - Scientific & Steering Committees Dr Jasmine Elliott is a Stage 2 Psychiatry Registrar at Bendigo Health with a strong commitment to improving youth mental health, particularly in rural and regional areas. Dr Jasmine grew up in rural and regional Northern Territory and Queensland and has completed most of her pre and postgraduate training in regional Victoria. She currently contributes to mental health policy and governance as a Board Director at Orygen, a member of the Loddon Mallee Mental Health and Wellbeing Interim Body, and through her involvement in the MCRI Centre for Research Excellence Youth Advocates Team (CREYATE). She is passionate about system reform, service accessibility, and integrating research into clinical practice to drive meaningful change. She has been a member of the DRIVERS Steering Committee in 2023, and Scientific Co-Chair in 2024, along with presenting at previous conferences. Internationally, she was a Youth Co-Convenor for the 2025 International Association of Youth Mental Health Conference. |
| Alex Yeoh - Scientific Committee Co-Chair Dr Alexandra Yeoh is currently a PGY2 at Latrobe Regional Health (LRH), with a special interest in psychiatry and rural medicine. Dr Alexandra has demonstrated remarkable leadership and proactivity. Since medical school, she has consistently advocated for her peers. She was a council member on the Rural World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), campaigning for equity in rural and remote regions on an international platform. In her leadership roles, she has founded mentoring programs and organised cultural immersion trips to support her peers and juniors in their understanding of rural, remote and Indigenous medicine. She currently plays an active role on the PMCV Accreditation Committee and is the PGY2 representative at LRH. |
| Shizar Nahidi - Scientific Committee Co-Chair Dr Shizar Nahidi is a RANZCP registrar at Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) and a Senior Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University. He has a PhD in public (mental) health and has a track record of collaborative research projects and peer-reviewed publications. His special areas of interests are public mental health, healthcare leadership and health service optimisation. Shizar is keen to explore the nexus between translational research, mental health practice and quality improvement in rural and regional settings. He is the current president of Junior Medical Officers (JMO) society at LRH advocating sustainable evidence-based changes at a local and regional levels. |
| Lisha Lai - Scientific Committee Dr Li Sha (Lisha) Lai is a Gippsland Rural Intern Training (GRIT) intern at Central Gippsland Health and a graduate of Monash University Malaysia. She is passionate about community and rural health, having chaired the Teddy Bear Hospital and volunteered in children’s health education. Her clinical experiences span rural rotations in Malaysia and her current work in regional Victoria, deepening her insight into healthcare in resource-limited settings. These experiences have shaped her commitment to delivering compassionate, equitable care and strengthened her dedication to serving regional and rural populations through adaptability, teamwork, and patient-centred practice. |
