About the Education Symposium 2022
This year's Symposium will build skills and give practical advice on, and examples of, what's been going on across the School. You'll hear from colleagues about their challenges and triumphs and have opportunities to join forces with others to discuss, appraise and remedy topics and issues that affect us all. The aim is to increase your confidence and, importantly, to give you time to network with colleagues from the School, University and clinical areas.
Our featured speaker is Professor Claire Palermo, Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning,
Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University. Her chosen topic is "Transforming assessment in health education: Reflections on the evidence to create a vision for the faculty.",
Presentation formats
All presentations will be made available prior to the Symposium so that you can view them and decide which you would like to discuss further in group sessions. All presentations are limited to 5-7 minutes.
Presentation Sessions - 5-7 minute pre-recorded video presentation showcasing an activity, insight, program, innovation, technique or approach. This will be available for viewing and consideration prior to the Symposium. On the day presenters will take part in a theme-based facilitated discussion followed by questions from attendees.
Panel Discussion - 50 minutes of facilitated panel discussion with opportunity for questions from attendees. 2020-21 has been quite unique in the way it's unfolded. It's been a very challenging time, but it will not last forever.
"Coming out from under the doona: Educational preparedness in a post COVID world." This panel discussion is scheduled for the afternoon as a means of enabling you to listen, learn, reflect and relax after your long, challenging, yet highly successful 2022.
