Associate Professor Felix Oberender
Head of Paediatric Intensive Care - Monash Children's Hospital
Felix is the Head of Paediatric Intensive Care at Monash Children’s Hospital and an adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics of Monash University. He trained in Paediatrics in Germany and the UK prior to specialising in paediatric intensive care and moving to Melbourne. He worked at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre before leading the opening of Australia’s newest Paediatric ICU at Monash Children’s Hospital in 2018. Felix is a fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the United Kingdom. He is engaged in committees and networks at state, national and international level. He will be presenting on behalf of Prof Simon Craig, the lead researcher at Monash Health in a large paediatric trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine last month.
