From discovery to health impact: advancing research, policy and practice to improve the health and wellbeing of women and children

Join us for the Monash Women's and Children’s Health Summit, a flagship event bringing together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and sector partners to explore innovations and evidence-based approaches that advance the health of women and children. The summit will feature keynote addresses, rapid-fire research showcases, sector panels, and parallel breakout sessions covering women’s and children’s health across the life course.

Why this matters

Women’s and children’s health research and translation represents one of the most significant opportunities to strengthen and support the health of Australian families, improve policy and systems, particularly in vulnerable populations, develop workforce capacity and practice and improve outcomes for Indigenous women, children and adolescents.

  • Endometriosis and pelvic pain – accelerating diagnosis and care

    One of the most common causes of chronic pain in women and a major focus of policy and clinical discussion. The summit will highlight research, diagnostic innovation and improved models of care.

  • Advancing Women’s and Children’s Health Across the Life Course

    Leading experts will explore reproductive health, maternity care, menopause, bone and heart health, emerging therapies and health equity, addressing evidence-based practice, women's automony, and lifelong wellbeing for women and children across the care continuum.

  • Building Healthier Futures for Every Child

    There will be discussion on child health, insights from placental science, strategies to improve outcomes for preterm babies, Indigenous child and adolescent wellbeing, and inclusive community programs that support participation, development, and long-term wellbeing for children with special needs.

  • Evidence to Impact: Strengthening Policy and Practice

    Experts will examine how research is translated into real-world policy and clinical practice through learning health systems, national maternity guidelines and statewide PCOS care.
