Dr Jason Abbott is Professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of New South Wales.He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed publications, has supervised more than 40  students through higher research degrees and garnered more than $80million in research funding.  He is the interim Director and Clinical Director of the Ainsworth Endometriosis Research Institute at UNSW, is the chair of the National Endometriosis Clinical and Scientific Trials (NECST) Network, Australia is a Director of the GRACE research group UNSW, is a member of the Endometriosis advisory group to the Australian government and Chaired the Inaugural Australian Clinical Guideline on the Diagnosis and Management of Endometriosis.
