Monash Steps / Stawell Steps 2012
Monash Architecture Project
Ian Potter Sculpture Court
8–22 September 2012

Monash Architecture students, working together with artist-in- residence Hiroshi Nakao (Japan), built a temporary occupiable space using dry-stacked bricks. The temporary installation was a precursor to the Stawell Steps, a permanent installation on the banks of Cato Lake in the centre of Stawell. Its installation at Stawell acts as a spillway to protect the park facilities from the rising water of the lake.
