My Home Space Tool

The My Home Space tool presents key findings from this research, and current policy, in an accessible ‘gamespace’ format. Visitors can use the tool to explore design decisions in built, technology and support environments, and community precincts.

"My Home Space has stepped me through some of the thinking in virtual spaces, including both 3D interactive and 2D views, like, for example, in the bathroom"
Kirrily, planning to move from a nursing home

Keyboard and/or mouse control can be set for ease of access – other accessibility aids may assist control of the tool. Visual contrast and text size can be set to suit individual users. When exploring 3D spaces, eye height and the speed of travel can also be adjusted. Pre-defined pathways for visitors link to particular activities such as socialising or cooking.  Free movement in virtual spaces is also possible.
