If your ATAR is South of 85

Pathways into Science

If you don't achieve the 'right' ATAR, it isn’t the end of the world – there are alternative pathways into a Bachelor of Science at Monash.

  • Transfer from another university

    Students can apply to transfer from another university’s science-related degree into Monash Science.

  • Single university units

    Mature age students (aged 21+) can apply to study two single (science) university units.

  • Diploma of Higher Education (DoHE)

    ATAR of at least 60, with a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.

  • TAFE qualifications (graded)

    Certificate IV Science-based certificate IV will be considered where the applicant has achieved average results of 80% or above.

  • Diploma of Science - Monash College (International students)

    If you're an international student who has completed the Year 12 Australian equivalent the Monash College Diploma of Science offers a direct pathway into the second year of a science degree.

  • Monash University Foundation Year - Monash College (International students)

    Students can apply to transfer from another university’s science-related degree into Monash Science.
