Integrated Morphology
and Palaeontology

Welcome to the Adams Lab

Our lab brings together comparative methods and advanced 3D imaging resources to the study of living and fossil mammal anatomy.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Development & Stem Cells Program and the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology.

Our research

Our research lab focuses on quantifying and reconstructing the basic and functional anatomy of living and recently extinct Australian marsupials and globally-distributed mammal groups using data from CT, MRI, surface scans and the Australian Synchrotron with morphometric techniques. We also lead applications of 3D visualisation and printing in human and comparative anatomy research and education, including the development of new medical and clinical teaching tools.
