Professor Wenwen Sun

Wenwen Sun

Wenwen Sun is a Young Chief Professor at the School of Materials at Southeast University, Assistant Dean, PhD supervisor, recipient of the National Youth Talent award, and a Jiangsu Province "Double Innovation Talent." She graduated from Central South University and Monash University with dual bachelor's degrees in 2011 and obtained her PhD from Monash University in 2015. From 2015 to 2019, she conducted postdoctoral research at Monash University under the supervision of Professor Christopher Hutchinson, Editorial board member of the top-tier journal Acta Materialia.

In 2020, she joined Southeast University. Her current research focuses on the microstructure evolution and strengthening-toughening mechanisms in advanced high-strength steels, the alloy design and wear resistance of high-entropy alloys, and room-temperature cyclic strengthening of aluminum alloys. She has led projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Project, General Project, and Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation Youth Project. She serves as a young editorial board member for journals such as China Materials Progress, Materials Research Letters, and the Journal of Materials Science and Technology.

In recent years, she has published over 10 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author in journals such as Science, Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, and Journal of Materials Science and Technology.
