Professor Zhuoran Zeng

Zhuoran Zeng is currently a Professor in the College of Materials Science and Engineering at Hunan University, China. He is also an academic staff at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology for Vehicle, and an adjunct research fellow at Monash University and the Australian National University. He received his B. Eng. with first-class honour (2011) and Ph.D. (2016) from Monash University, supervised by Prof. Jian-Feng Nie.
Since 2016, He has been a postdoc researcher and an assistant lecturer at Monash University until 2020, and then a research fellow at the Australian National University. He joined Hunan University in Oct 2023, after he was awarded NSFC for Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas).
His research interests include design and development of high-performance magnesium and aluminium alloys, and advanced manufacturing of structures for vehicles. He published 43 journal articles by Nature Communications, Acta Materialia, etc., with citations more than 3000 and H-index of 24. He is awarded TMS-AIME Robert Lansing Hardy Award (globally one awardee per year under age of 35) and First Prize of the Science and Technology Award by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. He participates National Key R&D Program of China (MOST) and is granted General Projects (NSFC) and Young Scientists Fund (Jiangsu Province) in 2024.
