One of Australia’s main economic drivers, the construction industry offers plentiful scope for increased efficiency and productivity through automation. Robotic technologies can be applied to materials handling, materials shaping and assembly, and enable new design approaches.

Monitoring and inspection technologies can also be used to improve safety and efficiency in the often complex and dangerous environment of a construction site. Our research will offer safer, improved methods through which to automate physically challenging tasks, allowing machines to take on the strenuous, dangerous and repetitive work that often places human construction workers at high risk.
