Remote Field Inspection

Going where humans can’t, robotic technologies can be used to undertake difficult and dangerous remote monitoring and inspection tasks out in the field in a diverse range of complex environments.

Drone technology enabled with robotic vision can help with monitoring and collating data on above ground structures such as buildings, roads, bridges, telecommunications, power transmission and other infrastructure assets, and below ground structures such as pipes, tunnels and manholes. Robots can also be used to complete maintenance and repair work in these complex and often dangerous environments. Our research will ensure new applications that offer improved safety and efficiency for workers out in the field.
