Sonics

This unit immerses students in the art and science of digital sound within the context of games design. Students explore the properties of digital sounds and their powerful communicative potential, gaining skills in capturing, editing, layering, synthesizing, and programming adaptive soundscapes. Assignments focus on crafting immersive soundscapes from DIY field recordings and creating evocative audio compositions inspired by abstract visuals. This hands-on approach builds a foundation for impactful sound design in interactive and immersive media.
