Augmented Human Operations
Augmented and Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence – led by Monash Faculty of IT
The key to advancing Australia as an economic powerhouse lies in combining human ingenuity with technological innovation. It’s not human or machine – it’s human and machine.
The problem
Augmented human operations involve people collaborating with or leveraging technology to enhance performance. Think of it like becoming a superhero or having a reliable sidekick.
We think the future of industry lies in augmented human operations – yet Australia lacks the digital literacy to capitalise on promising technologies.
The goal
We are exploring the concept of augmented human operations across various industries and businesses to investigate how to best implement it for a more efficient and effective workforce.
To achieve this, we aim to empower human performance and safety with artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies through four theme areas: collaboration, training, digital tools and digital tools literacy.
Outcomes you’ll drive
- New research and insights into the concept of augmented human operations.
- Contemporary digital tools to facilitate effective collaboration between humans and machines.
- Novel initiatives and training to drive digital literacy across augmented human operations.
- Updated safety protocols in AR, VR and AI systems in industry and business.
