Located at the foot of the Calvana Hills, our proposal reimagines this post-industrial landscape as an urban precinct of refuge and renewal. Individuals can temporarily live on site following times of crisis or financial and housing stress. The idea of care is pertinent to the precinct. I reciprocal relationship between site and human emerges through care for the ecology of the site.

The design operates around three core strategies, growing, foraging and urban mining. Residents optimise their own health, the ecological health of the site as well as being up-skilled through urban mining.
