Glennis Ng

Hi! I enjoy taking photographs, listening to music, playing musical instruments, and doing sports in my free time. I'm an avid traveler as well, and the architecture of the cities I've visited has always inspired me and left me in awe.

Amphibian Acquisition - an observatory for the skies, set in a sodden grave

With the ever-changing environment, my project, situated at Garden Island in Adelaide, aims to create some sort of a memorial of the site. Instead of demolishing where there is a potential risk of destroying habitats, I aim to add to the structure of my shipwreck, commemorating the past with what’s left. Instruments in the observatory collects data, and allows visitors to use them to observe and learn about the surroundings.
For as long as this structure is around, it is a habitat, for users living or dead. It will continue to observe and record the changes around it, while remaining stagnant on its own, til it is overcome by the tides, a safe space, home for the species in the waters.
