Tensile shade

In order to regenerate a portion of the Yarra River located at the Yarra Flats in Bulleen it was necessary to remove programs that interfered with the natural ecology of the River. The project was a class effort of mapping a range of infrastructure in the vicinity and finding a new home for these functions within a carpark in Doncaster.

I focused on the reuse of tensile objects such as netting and privacy screens that could be recycled and reused as a sun shading mechanism for the facade.

This image features a physical model of the sunshade made from tulle, wire and foam board.
