Earth Blades: Concept
Three retaining blades between 50-60 m run perpendicular to the fall of the land, capturing the rising slope and providing structure for a stepped building.
Plan
The architecture defines the program as a chain of movement structured as a fragmentary sequence of events and actions through spaces articulated by a dialogue between earthworks and the vinification and wine sampling processes.
Section
The structure takes pointers from the vernacular Victorian shed, implementing a mass timber frame on concrete foundations and a linear division between glazed walls and corrugated iron-clad stud walls on rammed earth blades supporting a cantilevering roofline.
