Ruoxi

Ruoxi Yang/ Self-isolation is an underlying mental illness that is the most common reason for depressive disorder. And Self-isolation is hard to be found because people may not realize that they are in self-isolation. I decide on this topic because I want to help people realize their situation about themselves (DRK) and try to encourage them to join some social activity (Campaign). My research points out that most teenagers are doing some online social activities such as chatting and gaming. However, that is not a truly social activity. If you keep doing online social you will resist communication with others face to face. You will lose lots of emotions during talking online.

DRK Mockup

There are 4 parts in my DRK. The first part is asking people’s feeling when they stay along.
In this part, people can easily get the answer from the right side becasue I set up a dotted line which can help them take the ‘answer’ off. Second part is about information collection. The third one is which activity choosen when you are free and last o page is a n opne question naire.

DRK Poster

This is the all data which comes from the DRK.

Primary outcome(Overview)

I decide to make an app that can help people join some face-to-face activities. The first page is to sign up, then you will jump to the ‘My task board’ page. This page can supply some activities for you and for each activity left you can find the specific introduction. I set up the way of step-by-step to help you achieve to finish the activity. These 4 steps are the main step when you join camping which is shown on camping page. And you can add the new task by the ‘+’. You can jump to the ‘loop’ page to check the degree of completion for each step. You can invite your friends to join the activity so that you can allocate different tasks for a different friend to finish it.

Primary outcome Mockup

I make a mockup for the main page. On this page, you can check which steps you have finished and which haven’t finished. And you also can see who have finished the steps. However, there is no compulsory requirement that someone has finished any step. It just depends on how you allocate the missions.

Supporting Outcome 1

I decide to make a decoration as a winner's gift to encourage people who finish the most activities by using the apps
The design concept of this rose is basic on isolation. I choose to use a glass cover that can show the self-isolation
because they are both isolated from the outside world. And the rose is beautiful, I choose it to show young people. They are also beautiful, but if they isolated themselves. They will be like the rose which being die away until the petal disappears. On one side, the rose is just like the people who are in isolation. Another side, this decoration is not forever, if people want to keep the rose in full bloom, they will join the activity from the app to win it.

Supporting Outcome 2

The poster shows the person who is drawing the line which will isolate himself. And the font design can encourage people that do not to isolate themselves and talk with others. It also encourages you to download the app so you can join some activities from the app with your friend in order to avoid self-isolation.
