Ponder is an intelligent robot, engaging with users through balance. Playfully responding to the flow of conversation it entices us to attune to the dialogue we share with others. Designed as a focal point of communion, Ponder engages in a constant process of entanglement with our interpersonal and material relationships. Alongside Ponder we can critically reflect upon the dialogue we share with others and the world. As a speculative intersection of robotics and crafts, Ponder is the outcome of a conversation between designer, user, material, and technology. This interaction extends beyond the process of design as future users engage through Ponder in reflexive dialogue.

What meaningful relationships will our technological futures afford?

Who might future participants be in the ongoing dialogue with Ponder?

How will crafted objects entangle with the technological?

Where are we in the relationship between robotic agents and the world?
