This self-reflexive curatorial practice has taught me a lot. It has taken me on a journey to hone my knowledge of First Nation Australians, specifically women artists of the (APY) Lands. The aim of this publication is to appropriately write about Indigenous art and a collection of artists as a white female art historian and curator. Art writing, although text-heavy can be an embodied writing style that interconnects my thoughts with my audience. The primary articulation of this project is to express my challenges, successes, and vulnerability, whilst still setting out to complete my initial aspiration which was to highlight the work of these incredibly fundamental contemporary artists.
