“Entanglement, in sum, is none other than the external perspective on the very relations that weave reality: the manifestation of one object to another, in the course of an interaction…” - Carlo Rovelli
Correlated is a Studio GAX practice embedded delivery that aims at understanding complex naturally occurring phenomena and synthesising these into spatial, audio-visual, or digital installations and its associated exhibition design.
During the course of the semester, students designed, prototyped, fabricated, and documented a 1:1 scale artefact meant to convey a characteristic, aspect, or interpretation of time. This included: directionality, unity, granularity, dilation, and entropy, amongst others.
Utilising fundamental physics theories and digital art as precedents, students first produced digital iterations of their designs, which later evolved into physical 1:1 scale cardboard prototypes, and culminated in a fully functional audio visual artefacts, that were documented utilising architectural communication techniques, following Peter Zumthor’s idea of building/fabricating before drawing/documenting.
The studio held a soft launch exhibition in week 12 at Hanover House, as a preamble to the salon reviews, and as a way to fine tune the operation and presentation of the students' artefacts.
