The Eucalypt Affiliate' is a social housing project located on Haines Street, North Melbourne. The project consists of 5 social housing buildings, where 4 offer 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 1 offers 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. A community is fostered with a central playground, 2 cafes and 2 retail centres on either side of the site and a communal vegetable garden located on the west corner of the site. All buildings have an environmentally sustainable construction with brick and timber being used and each building having a unique height, providing the appearance of the buildings being extruded out of the land. Indigenous trees are also provided to provide shade from the northern Sun.
