My design focuses on aiding search and rescue teams during time sensitive moments where a missing person or person in distress needs to be located. The AVIAN can search large areas of ground from an aerial perspective using night vision cameras if needed, allowing for rescuers to get to the person faster. When the person is located and the rescue teams are on their way, the drone can assess the condition of the person and lower supplies to them.
I completed my final studio unit in Prato, Italy in Collaboration design as a part of the Monash Study Abroad program; the AVIAN search and rescue is a personal project of mine, in which I used my skills from my Industrial design degree.
AVIAN search and rescue
The AVIAN is designed to be used by search and rescue teams to locate missing people. It specialises in covering large areas of land quickly, searching for people using its night vision camera when in nighttime situations. Once the person is found the AVIAN can bring aid items to them if they in a bad condition while rescue teams make their way over.
