As a spatial designer in my final year of study I have discovered an interest for creating inclusive public spaces, as well as an interest in sustainable materialises that can be included in my spatial designs. In my last semester I looked into creating spaces for those suffering from anxiety, trepidation and worry in public spaces, ensuring all individuals feelings and concerns are accounted for in public setting. This semester I created a speculative installation called 'Serene Pocket' situated in public spaces to offer a place of solace to individuals who need support. The structure includes elements of fractural pattern and biophilic design to create a relaxing and comforting experience

Serene Pockket

Serene Pocket is a capacious dome shaped structure that invites individuals to tranquilly take time for themselves to relax and reset. It is speculated to be situated in multiple public spaces across the world with contrasting landscapes that can be required to offer peace and solace to those that inhabit city and suburban life. This installation encompasses elements of biophilic design to ensure the connection between individuals and nature, which in turn provides stress relief, improved mood and productivity. To compliment this design perspective, fractal pattern is the main structure of this installation, projecting fractal shadows as the structure engages with the natural light.
